Antique Victorian manicure and grooming travel set in original roll case, circa late 1800s to early 1900s. Gold silk damask interior with scalloped edges and ribbon tool loops. Rubberized black exterior with gold trim stitching; one of two original snap closures present.
Celluloid and bone-tone handled implements throughout — two pairs of scissors, nail files, cuticle pushers, spatulas, hook tool with ornate black handle, burnisher, and additional grooming instruments. Near complete — one slot unfilled.
Several implements bear an R within a diamond cartouche maker's mark, consistent with British or French cutler registration, possibly Sheffield manufacture. One file stamped "Special Triple Cut Germany" — high-quality Solingen-region export manufacture, late 19th to early 20th century. A mixed-provenance set assembled from the finest available tools, common practice in high-end grooming sets of this era.
Light rust on metal tool tips, one snap closure missing — honest age patina consistent with a century of use. Opens flat to 16.25 x 12 inches.
Perfect for a Victorian vanity display, dark academia shelf, antique grooming collection, or cottagecore dressing table.
Every piece has a past. Find yours. — Sarah / The Storied House Co.
